Simple user guide.

Episode Player.

The episode player is a very easy-to-use program, after you load it up you should see a long list of episodes in the bottom left corner.
Select the episode of your choice and click the "Load Episode" button, which is above the list.
It will take some time for the episode to load. When it eventually appears you can "play episode" by pressing the "Play Episode" button in the top menue bar.
Right next to "Play Episode" button there are several other buttons.
"Play Frame" button allows you to play the entire episode frame by frame.
You can navigate through frames by pushing one of the four dark green buttons:
"<<" button allows you to skip to the first frame.
">>" button takes you to the last frame.
">" button allows you to go forward by frame.
"<" button allows you to go back by one frame.
"Play Comments" button plays audio comments to the episode. Not all episodes currently have them.
"Sound" check box allows you to switch music on and off. The music is played during the animation.

Episode Recorder

Episode Recorder allows you to design new episodes and store them on the disk.
Episode can illustrate an exercise or a real match situation.
You record episodes frame by frame.
Frame is a part of the episode that can contain only one pass/kick of the ball.
All controls that appear on a screen can be divided into the following groups:
"File" menu allows you to start recording of a new episode,
save it to the disk and load the existing episode for editing.

"Edit" panel is a column of buttons at the bottom of the left side of the screen.
It contains different function you can perform with frame.

"Play" panel contains different functions that help you to navigate through the episode,
replay episode either frame by frame of as one whole and set up the replaying speed for each frame.

Apart from that there are three popup menus that pop up on your screen when you are editing a frame
They are:
"Place Menu"
"Player Menu"
"Cone Menu"

"Place Menu" contains commands that place different objects on a soccer field.
The objects are players, goalkeepers, ball and cones.

"Player Menu" allows you to perform different funtions with a player on a pitch.

"Cone Menu" currently only allows to remove cone for the pitch.

"File" menu.

"New Window" starts a new window
"Close Window" closes current window
"Open Episode" load episode from disk
"Save Episode" saves episode to disk
"New Episode" saves episode to disk

"Play" panel.

"Play Episode" playes current episode
"<<" go to first frame
"<" go to the previous frame
"Play Frame" plays current frame
">" go to the next frame
">>" go to the last frame
"Play Speed" you can change speed of replaying for a current frame

"Edit" panel

Edit panel is a group of control located just under menu bar
"Save Frame" adds frame to the episode and automatically starts new frame
"Undo Frame" deletes all editing work that was done with the frame.
"Quit Edit" quits the edit mode. Usually after you finish recording you quit edit mode and then save the episode
"Edit Frame" starts editining of a current frame. After you finish with editing you have to do "Save Frame" and then "Quit Edit"
"Add Frames" allows start adding frames after a current frames. All frames that were after a current frame before will be deleted
"Repeat Frames" is useful for repeating a certain parts of the episode.
This command takes frames from the one that user specified to the last frame and copies them to the end of the episode.

"Place" popup menu

If you point on an empty space on the soccer field with your mouse and do a right click then
the "Place" popup menu will appear.
"Place a player team A" places next player from a blue team on a soccer field at the coordinates of the cursor.
"Place a player team B" places next player from a red team on a soccer field at the coordinates of the cursor.
Note: Maximum ten players of each team are allowed on the field at the same time.
"Place a Goalkeeper team A" places a goalkeeper from a blue team on a soccer field at the coordinates of the cursor.
"Place a Goalkeeper team B" places a goalkeeper from a red team on a soccer field at the coordinates of the cursor.
Note: Only one goalkeeper per team allowed on the field.
"Kick a ball here" puts a soccer ball at the cursur position and draws a line between the player
"New Cone" puts a cone on a soccer field at the coordinates of the cursor.

"Player" popup menu

If you mouse cursor points at a player and you do a right click then the "Player" popup menu
appears on the screen
"Move Back" deletes the player's route in the current frame
"Have the Ball" gives a ball to the player
"Get a Pass" the player recieves a pass from a player who has a ball in the current frame "Take Off Field" takes the player of field
"Move back a leg" deletes last straight line from the player's route in the current frame
"Flash when playing" make the player "flash" during the replay of the frame
"Record Route" allows the user to ????
"Move Back to Frame" the player "moves" to the position he had at the begginning of a given frame.

"Remove cone" popup menu

If you mouse cursor points at a cone you click the right mouse button then the following popup menu appears
"Remove Cone"
"Remove Cone" removes cone from the field.
